Scholarships can help students pursue online degrees in finance
Individuals who are studying a finance-related field at a campus-based or online college may be eligible to receive scholarships, such as those that are available through Sapient Financial Group.
In partnership with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, the company has opened the application process for its scholarship program, which will benefit residents of San Antonio, Texas.
College students who are of African American, Asian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic descent may apply for the awards, which are worth $5,000 each. Applicants should also be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program that focuses on accounting, business, economics, finance, marketing, math or statistics. In addition, a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required for consideration.
These awards are intended to "help deserving candidates to obtain the education and experience they'll need to become financial professionals and, ultimately, to help serve San Antonio's increasingly diverse community," said Frank Woodruff, Sapient's CEO.
Students at campus-based or online universities may want to consider applying for similar financial aid awards that could help them avoid a great deal of educational debt.
