Rheumatoid arthritis patients in online degree programs can receive financial aid
Online schools may prove to be ideal to students who wish to pursue higher education but suffer from certain diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
To help these individuals succeed in their educational pursuits, Belgian pharmaceutical company UCB has announced the availability of scholarships for rheumatoid arthritis patients and their immediate family members.
Applicants are required to be legal residents of the U.S. who are enrolled or planning to enroll in an associates, bachelors, graduate or vocational program at a campus-based or online college. In addition, these students must exhibit ambition and live in a way that exceeds the boundaries of rheumatoid arthritis.
A total of 31 winners will be selected by a panel of medical professionals to receive the financial aid packages, which are worth $10,000 each.
March 19 is the deadline for qualified students to apply for the scholarships, and the winners will be notified by June 30 via phone call. The awards will be sent directly to each student's school of choice in time for the fall 2010 semester.
