Organization awards scholarships to 140 Hispanic MBA students

Each year, the National Society of Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA) awards scholarships to academically promising students who demonstrate financial need. The organization has chosen more than 140 learners from across the country to receive financial aid packages ranging from $2,500 for part-time enrollment to $10,000 for full-time students this year.

Scholarships are given based on academic achievement, work experience, financial need, personal statements of goals and aspirations, community service, letters of recommendation as well as NSHMBA ambassadorship.

The society will be awarding a total of $523,125 in financial aid, which includes $250 in travel reimbursement for each recipient to attend the NSHMBA Annual Conference and Career Expo in Chicago.

"It is a terrible loss to companies - and society as whole - when it is never shown the right person for the job because that person is unable to hurdle the obstacle of financing a degree," said Steve Ramos, NSHMBA interim CEO. "We're extremely excited to again be doing what we do so very well, and that's give money to deserving students who are bettering themselves educationally."

In the past five years, NSHMBA has given over $3.75 million in financial aid to 896 recipients thanks to the contributions and assistance from individual and corporate donors.
