Oregon scholarship application program may help online degree candidates
Oregon residents who wish to enroll in on-campus or online universities may find ways to fund their education through the Oregon Student Assistance Commission's (OSAC) website.
The commission has announced it will begin accepting applications that will allow high school and college students to apply for more than 400 scholarships, the Oregonian reports.
Students seeking financial aid can fill out a comprehensive online form called an eApp on OSAC's website. By submitting the application, students are able to apply for hundreds of scholarships with one form.
To access the application, Oregon residents are required to create a profile on the site, which allows them to log in and complete the electronic form and edit or update it.
The website also provides a catalog of scholarship opportunities and a workbook to help students review their financial aid options.
Although students may apply for the scholarships through March 1 of next year, those who submit their eApps by February 16, 2010 will receive priority review and an opportunity to fix errors before the applications are finalized, according to the newspaper.
Students who are relying on financial aid to go to college may consider enrolling in online degree programs, which can allow them to work and avoid accumulating high educational debt.
