Online university rolls out military scholarship program
Grantham University (GU), an accredited online school designed for working adults, has announced that it will again partner with the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (KC AUSA) to create a scholarship program for two members of the military community.
Through the initiative, the university will provide a four-year scholarship to one non-commissioned officer and an equal scholarship to the spouse of an NCO. Other than having the tuition costs of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program covered, the beneficiaries will also receive free textbooks, software and shipping of the course materials.
"It is our mission to promote the importance of maintaining a strong and ready Army in our community," said Diane Boeger, KCAUSA president.
"One way we can do that is by partnering with Grantham University to provide our members with continuing education and training opportunities, including the annual awarding of the NCO and NCO Spouse scholarships," she added.
The combined value of the two scholarships is estimated at $72,000. Recipients must reside in the greater Kansas City, Ft. Leavenworth, Ft. Riley or Topeka communities.
