Online university offers project management scholarship program for unemployed adults
Scholarships exist for all types of nontraditional students, and many individuals are unaware that they qualify for financial aid. According to CollegeScholarships.org, there a number of national scholarship competitions for adult students, as more Americans wish to return to school.
The U.S. government, as well as many corporations and private institutions, assign money each year toward tuition for adult learners enrolling in higher education. Many campus-based and online schools have also created scholarship programs for incoming students.
For example, Paradigm University and the Project Management Preparatory Academy have announced the launch of a scholarship for unemployed professionals. The program is geared toward adults who want to sharpen their skills in order to better prepare themselves for the workplace and today's competitive job market.
Recipients of the scholarship are eligible to take classes online with Project Management Preparatory Academys or Paradigm Universitys web-based learning portal.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts excellent job growth for project managers in construction, management and consulting over the next several years. On average, project managers working in construction make between $60,650 and $145,920 per year.
As more organizations use team-based methods to get work done, project management has become an increasingly important responsibility for many workers, according to the BLS.
