Online university announces scholarship for female students

Female students can avail themselves of this scholarship
American InterContinental University (AIU) Online recently announced a new scholarship that will be awarded to female students who are enrolled in the online institution.
Designed with busy female scholars in mind, The Working Woman Scholarship awards sums of up to $35,000 to deserving women who are employed and are studying to earn a degree. Applicants must be female, over 18 years old and working at least 20 hours per week as they pursue a degree with AIU Online. Two Working Woman scholarships will be awarded per year.
"We hope that this scholarship will help alleviate the stress of paying for post-secondary education and support outstanding women who are struggling to balance work, life and school responsibilities by demonstrating our belief in them," said Steve Tober, CEO of AIU and President of AIU Online.
Any students interested in applying must submit a personal statement between 300 and 700 words in length along with a letter of recommendation from her current employer.
According to AIU Online, 68 percent of 2008's female graduates worked while they studied.
