Online degree candidates in Washington can apply for scholarships
Washington state residents who wish to further their education at campus-based or online universities may consider applying for scholarships, such as those that are offered by the Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU).
The financial institution has announced it will renew its annual scholarship program, which is managed by its charitable arm, the BECU Foundation.
At least 25 awards will be given to high school seniors and undergraduate students who have excelled academically and participated in community service activities.
The top-scoring applicants will receive memorial scholarships that honor two of the company's former executives. All of the awards are worth $2,500 each.
To qualify for the opportunity, applicants are required to be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate degree program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Candidates are also required to be members of the credit union, which is open to all state residents.
Recipients will be selected based on their academic achievements, demonstrated leadership capability and devotion to community service.
Individuals who wish to pursue volunteer opportunities while they gain higher education may consider enrolling in online courses, which can allow them to learn in their spare time.
