Online degree candidates can win scholarships from Coca Cola
High school seniors who are planning to enroll in campus-based or online degree programs next year may benefit from scholarships, such as those offered by the Coca Cola Foundation.
The charitable arm of the Coca Cola Company has announced the first round of finalists for its annual scholarship program, Pilot News reports.
Each year, the company selects 250 students to receive $3 million in financial aid awards, according to the organization's website.
Last month, approximately 2,200 applicants were named semifinalists. These students will be required to submit a secondary application that includes an essay, a transcript and two letters of recommendation.
In February, a national selection committee will choose 250 finalists to participate in personal interviews in Atlanta.
From these students, the judges will select 50 National Scholars to receive $20,000 awards and 200 Regional Scholars to receive $10,000 scholarships.
The awards will be disbursed over four years to each winner's school of choice.
To be eligible, candidates were required to be U.S. citizens who are planning to pursue higher education at a campus-based or online college next spring. Applicants were also asked to show proof of a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Winners will be notified in April of next year.
