Nursing scholarships available

Scholarships for nurses are available through this program

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Foundation has announced that they will offer $111,000 worth of financial aid to nurse practitioners (NPs) who are studying to upgrade their degrees or embarking on new research projects.

Scholarships are available for nurses-in-training at various levels, including $40,500 allocated to financial aid for NPs working toward their Master of Science in Nursing degrees, Post-MS NP scholarships and financial assistance to doctoral candidates.

The remaining amount - $70,500 - will be awarded in the form of research and project grants to student NPs and practicing NPs.

"The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Foundation Scholarship & Grant Program supports the pursuit of quality advanced education and promotes innovative scientific investigation by nurse practitioners." said Kimberly Dempster-Gonzalez, director of development for the AANP Foundation. "The AANP Foundation's investment in these initiatives ensures NPs will continue to make a lasting, positive impact on healthcare."

Scholarship and grant applications are available now via the AANP Foundation's website. The application deadline for scholarships and grants is October 21. Applicants must be members of the AANP to be eligible.
