Marketing association awards scholarships
Degree seekers who wish to enter the field of marketing may have a number of career options. These professionals typically coordinate their companies' market research, marketing strategy, sales, advertising, promotion, pricing, product development and public relations activities, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports.
In an effort to help more adults earn a degree in this field, the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association (CIMA) recently announced that the winners of its three scholarships. The award is given to undergraduate and graduate students who have demonstrated academic success, displayed ambition for pursuing a career in the digital marketing industry, and shown leadership within the marketing community.
"Education is very important to the CIMA board of directors, and we are proud to recognize and reward outstanding students in our community. These three individuals stood out from a number of [qualified] candidates," said Camille Fetter, CIMA's vice president of academic affairs.
According to the BLS, employment of marketing professionals is expected to increase by 13 percent. These individuals held approximately 623,800 jobs last year.
