LearnKey to provide online education tools and scholarships

LearnKey - a company that provides specialized online courses for individuals, educators and organizations - has launched its fourth annual scholarship program.

The company will supply three U.S. high schools with tools to enable teachers to prepare their students for industry certification exams as well as testing vouchers. The exams will test students' expertise in programs from companies such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe and Certiport.

Schools will be selected based on demonstrated social and economic need and a problem statement included in the application. Students can nominate their schools through October 12 on the company's website.

LearnKey will award three students who choose to obtain such certifications with $1,000 scholarships to put toward college tuition. In order to be eligible, students must plan to take an approved exam and be certified by the end of the school year.

Jamie Franzman, LearnKey's COO, said that "now more than ever schools are focusing on industry certifications," and said it is her "personal goal to help students" earn them.
