Investor announces scholarship program to benefit students in online degree programs

The chairman of SignificantFederation, a firm that aims to make higher education more accessible, will make scholarships available to students wishing to obtain an online education.

Dr Michael Clifford, founder of the company, has announced that students who have been accepted by participating online colleges and universities will be eligible for $1,000 scholarships.

The program will also award $2,000, $5,000 and full tuition scholarships to exceptional applicants with demonstrable financial need.

Through the scholarships, Clifford said he intends to "reach out to the smartest and poorest students in America and expand their horizons."

This program also supports SignificantFederation's Four Gospels of Higher Education, which set out to make postsecondary learning fully and equally accessible, affordable, timely and relevant as well as purposeful and ethical. The company works with brick-and-mortar and online universities to develop distance learning programs in order to achieve these goals.
