Film and engineering students win scholarship in video contest

The Tea Council of the USA awarded two college students a $15,000 scholarship for their entry in its annual Calm-A-Sutra of Tea video contest, which aims to provide an online education about the benefits of tea consumption.

The winning team includes an aspiring actor pursuing a film degree and an engineering student who will use their award to partially cover the tuition expenses of their degree programs.

The competition required applicants to feature black, green, white or oolong teas in an original video that showcased the health benefits of drinking tea. These specific varieties contain antioxidants that may bolster the body's defenses and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Each video had to be between one and two minutes long and provide at least one valid statement about the healthy effects of one of the four featured varieties of tea.

The entries were judged by a panel of representatives from the Tea Council based on their health-related message, creativity and popularity.

Working adults wishing to continue their education in the film or engineering fields may seek similar opportunities for financial aid to help them enroll in online degree programs.
