Charity’s scholarship programs may benefit online degree candidates
High school seniors who plan to enroll in on-campus or online universities next fall may consider scholarship opportunities, such as those offered by Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The New York tri-state area branch of the foundation has announced it will offer financial aid to prospective college freshmen through four scholarship programs.
Students of Asian, African American or Hispanic backgrounds may apply for the charitys Asia, AAFA and HACER awards.
The RMHC Scholars program, by contrast, is open to individuals of any ethnicity. However, qualified students may only apply for one of the organizations scholarships.
All programs are intended to support students from communities with limited access to educational and career opportunities, said Gerald McCoy, the charitys regional president.
Graduating high school seniors who live in New York state, New Jersey or Fairfield County, Connecticut are eligible to apply for the awards.
Winners will be determined based on financial need, academic achievement and community service experience.
High school students may pursue similar financial aid opportunities that can help them pay for tution at on-campus or online colleges.
