Case competition gives scholarships to business students

MBA candidates competed for $35,000 in scholarships during the National Student Case Competition at the National Black MBA Association's annual convention last week.

The contest was held to provide teams of students from 22 nationwide business schools with a platform to exercise their analytical and problem-solving abilities using a hypothetical business case.

The teams developed solutions for the case and presented their analyses and suggestions to a panel of business executives for review.

They were judged on their assessments, the feasibility of their responses and the quality of their presentations.

MBA students from the University of Carolina won the $15,000 grand prize, followed by Emory University, who won $12,000, and Winston Salem State University, whose members earned $8,000 in scholarships.

Lisa J. Wicker. Director of talent management, global diversity and leadership development for Chrysler said the winning teams were successful due to their "grasp of global business dynamics as it relates to this year 's challenging case study."

Those wishing to pursue graduate business education have many financial aid options to support an online MBA program.
