Illinois residents who wish to pursue a campus-based or online degree may be able to receive financial assistance from various organizations throughout the state.

For instance, Diageo - a spirits, beer and wine provider - recently opened the application process for its Celebrate the Future scholarship program, which is intended to benefit Hispanic students who are planning to enter the hospitality industry.

Individuals who wish to receive these benefits must be legal residents of Illinois who are of Hispanic descent and who are older than 21 years. Furthermore, candidates must hold at least a high school diploma and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Qualified students may apply on their own or be nominated by an outside party.

The company has committed to award more than $55,000 in financial aid this year. In addition, Diageo will provide two six-month paid internships to exceptional students who are planning to work in sales or marketing.

August 6 is the deadline to submit applications and nominations for this scholarship. Both of these forms are available on the company’s website.
