Anheuser-Busch to boost the Hispanic Scholarship Fund during the FIFA World Cup

As part of its ongoing mission to support the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser have announced they will supplement their annual financial commitment to the program during this year's FIFA World Cup.

For every goal scored during the tournament, which begins in South Africa this Friday, the brewing companies will donate $500 to the HSF. This program will be worth up to $100,000 for the financial aid provider.

Anheuser-Busch is the HSF's largest corporate contributor and has donated more than $24 million to the organization over the past 28 years. As a result, more than 20,000 students have received financial assistance to attend nearly 2,000 campus-based and online colleges.

Margarita Flores, senior director of community relations for the brewer, said that the World Cup initiative is intended to "deliver support to students who need it the most - students who otherwise could not realize their dream of a college education."

A running tally of goals scored and subsequent donations made to the HSF will be available on Budweiser's Facebook page, where private donors may also make their own contributions.
