Online university offers new specialization in its education programs
Students pursuing online degrees in early childhood education and education administration at Ashford University are now able to choose new infant and toddler specialization.
The specialization will help to prepare students for careers in early childhood education, as well as infant and child care.
"Trends and issues relevant to infant and toddler development provide excellent learning opportunities in the area of quality care," says Joen Rottler, dean of the School of Education at Ashford.
"The critical developmental areas of cognitive, social and emotional growth are addressed in meaningful context of family, culture and care," she adds.
Ashford University, which is part of Bridgeport Education, was founded in 1918 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It offers graduate and undergraduate degree programs online and at its Clinton, Iowa, campus.
Adults interested in switching careers and become teachers may consider enrolling in an online degree at Ashford or any other of the many distance education programs offered by schools around the country.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says job growth for teachers will average 12 percent during the next seven years.
