Returning students can benefit from enrolling in degree completion programs
Online education enrollments now surpass traditional college enrollments by a five-to-one ratio, according to the Sloan Consortium. This may be due in part to the increasing number of web-based courses that many schools are offering in an effort to accommodate nontraditional students.
For example, officials from Vincennes University's Jasper, Indiana campus recently announced that it will offer online bachelor's degree programs through Indiana University (IU) East and the IU School of Continuing Studies. Under an agreement that was signed by all three schools, students who have completed or who will complete applicable two-year degrees can transfer their credits to a four-year program.
Those who enroll in IU East can obtain online bachelor's degrees in business administration, technical English and professional writing, communications studies or natural science, as well as a concentration in mathematics. The IU School of Continuing Studies will offer a bachelor's degree in general studies.
PayScale.com - a research company - reports that average salaries for people who hold bachelor's degrees ranges between $44,113 and $86,836 per year.
