Online university selected as a top military school
American Military University (AMU), a member institution of American Public University, a fully accredited online school, has recently announced that it has been selected to the Military Advanced Education's Guide to Military Friendly Colleges and Universities.
AMU offers self-paced online classes to meet the educational needs of military professionals with irregular schedules and limited financial resources.
"[We are] proud to be the choice of more than 45,000 service members seeking to acquire an [online] college education," said Jim Sweizer, vice president of military programs. "We have a nationally recognized and dedicated faculty that understand and cater to the needs of service members and veterans, as well as a student body that is proud to be part of a military-friendly university."
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that educational requirements in all branches of the armed forces will continue to rise in the coming years. It predicts that almost every officer will eventually need at least a bachelors degree and, in a number of cases, a masters degree as well.
Online education is a cost-effective and flexible option for those who would like to earn their degree but find it difficult to attend classes on campus because of distance, family or work commitments.
