Online university alumni well represented in Grammy nominations
Full Sail University (FSU), an accredited online education provider, has recently announced that 100 graduates of its recording arts degree program were involved in the production of the albums of 76 nominated artists in 58 separate categories for this year's Grammy Awards, which will air on January 31.
Additionally, four graduates were nominated for their own work in categories such as album of the year, record of the year, best dance recording and best R&B album. This is the sixth consecutive year that the FSU alumni have been involved in over 100 nominations.
"All of Full Sail University is celebrating the tremendous achievement of the 100 graduates who have worked on Grammy nominated projects this year," said Dana Roun, program director of audio programs.
"The sixth consecutive year [breaking] the threshold of having more than 100 graduates recognized for their achievements at the Grammy Awards humbles us knowing that we have been a part of their journey," he added.
The online education sector grew 13 percent last year and had been growing at about 20 percent in previous years.
