Online university adds Photoshop course to its curriculum

The College of Auxiliary Services (CAS) at the State University of New York Plattsburg has announced that it is now offering an online course in intermediate Photoshop.

The new course is designed for students who have a strong understanding of basic Photoshop and are looking to develop advanced skills in image editing.

Intermediate Photoshop will be an intensive six week web-based course that will consist of lessons, quizzes and assignments that will help students edit photographs in a professional manner.

CAS states that "these classes offer the flexibility to study at an individual's own pace, combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. In addition, attendees can access courses 24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection."

The online education sector grew 13 percent last year and had been growing at about 20 percent in previous years. Nearly one in four students take at least some college courses online, up from one in 10 in 2002, Reuters reports.
