Online universities offer travel and tourism programs
Adult degree seekers who love to travel may benefit from enrolling in a business, tourism or hospitality academic program. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), professionals in this industry often receive excellent perks, such as reduced rates for transportation and lodging.
Those who wish to pursue a job in this field may want to enroll in a career training program, Helium reports. Institutions such as the Penn Foster Career School offer an online travel and tourism specialist program that is designed to prepare students for the Travel Agent Proficiency exam and Certified Tourism Ambassador certification. Ashworth University also offers career training for travel agents.
Those who wish to earn more advanced degrees can enroll in Strayer University, as the school offers an online bachelor's of business administration and MBA in hospitality and tourism management.
The University of Phoenix also offers degree programs in this field, such as an online associate's of arts degree with a concentration in hospitality, travel, and tourism as well as an online bachelor's in business with a concentration in hospitality management.
The BLS reports that travel agents who specialize in specific destinations, luxury travel or particular types of travelers, such as groups with a special interest or hobby, should have the best chance for success.
