Adult learners planning to pursue on online degree may take advantage of the new resource released by eLearners.com called "Book of Wisdom."

In the book, the website - which connects learners to online education, including online degree and certificate programs, specialized career training and a variety of online courses - offers advice based on common questions its career coaches received from Americans during the nationwide Empowerment Tour, which traveled to about 40 cities from June to September 2009.

Among the recommendations are those that encourage people to consider their own interests and strengths, instead of focusing on what is "hot" in the job market right now, when deciding on a professional path.

"If you merely choose a hot career … and then pursue a degree or job in that field, without a major interest or skill that is applicable, it will be hard to stand out," says Michael Cushman, one of the career coaches, adding, "You have to be true to yourself."

Creators of the website hope the book will help individuals determine the best career path for them and encourage them to explore the many online degree programs offered by colleges and universities around the country.
