Nonsecular college offers new online degree

The U.S. Department of Labor recently projected that in the coming decade, 90 percent of new high-growth, high-wage jobs will require some postsecondary education. In order to help more adults obtain advanced degrees, a number of campus-based and online universities are increasing their academic programs.

Secular institutions such as Lubbock Christian University (LCU) are offering web-based degrees in order to access more nontraditional students. The school recently announced the launch of an online bachelor's degree program in organizational management.

LCU collaborated with online education provider Deltak in order to design the curriculum for the degree.

"We selected Deltak as a partner because they recognize that serving our students consistently according to the values and goals of our unique mission is extremely important to us. It is exciting for us to have the opportunity to expand that mission beyond our regional presence and touch more of the world with the LCU experience," said L. Ken Jones, president of the school.

The university has a current enrollment of approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students including 250 fully online learners, and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
