New partnership will help Langston University expand online education offer
Langston University, which offers a range of associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree programs, has signed an agreement with Education Online Services Corporation (EOServe Corp) to develop online education opportunities.
Ezell Brown, the corporation's chairman, says the company will provide recruitment and support service expertise as well as an online curriculum platform, based on its experience helping other educational partners deliver full-service online degree programs.
Meanwhile, Joann W. Haysbert, president of Langston University, explains that the step "will allow us to extend our academic reach to students across the nation, especially those who, because of jobs, family and other issues, prefer to take courses online."
As many Americans affected by the weakness of the labor market are facing the prospect of a career change, it may be worth remembering that technological skills, especially in the area of information technology, computer science and engineering, will be in demand in the coming years.
Many online degree programs exist that can help individuals obtain such credentials, and the Census Bureau estimates that workers with college degrees earn about twice as much as those with only a high school diploma.
