International student graduates with honors from online university
Trinidad and Tabago resident Kelly Caracciolo has recently completed her online bachelors degree from Genesee Community College in New York without ever stepping foot on the campus.
Caracciolo was able to finish her business administration degree while simultaneously working full-time as an administrative assistant in her home country. She graduated as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.81.
"I am very grateful to the [online education] staff [at the college]," said Caracciolo. "They gave me the opportunity to get started on my career
The courses were challenging, yet enjoyable," she added.
Because of the success of distance learning students like Caracciolo, the school's officials have recently announced that they will be adding 23 additional online courses to their 2010 curriculum.
Online education is a cost-effective and flexible option for those who would like to earn their degree but find it difficult to attend classes on campus because of distance, family or work commitments.
