Colorado Technical University to add two new online degree offerings
In an effort to offer their student population more flexibility, officials with Colorado Technical University (CTU) have announced that the school has recently added two new online degree programs to their summer offerings.
For the coming semester, the university will launch a bachelor of science program in information technology with a concentration in software application and a master of science in management with a concentration in organizational leadership and change.
"We are always working to develop new degree programs that address today's workforce and changing business environment," said Wallace Pond, chief executive officer for CTU.
"These new degree concentrations provide two additional options for students seeking our career-relevant technology and management programs," he added.
The new BSIT degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in web development, software systems engineering, security and network management. The offering will focus on emerging application technologies and the software development life cycle.
Labor department analysts estimate a 21 percent nationwide increase in computer programming jobs over the next 10 years, which is faster than the average for all other occupations.
