Authorities at Ann Marie College (AMC) in Paxton, Massachusetts have announced that the school will be adding three online degree options as alternatives to its on-campus offerings.

Beginning in the fall semester of 2010, the New England college will launch a bachelor of arts in fire science administration, a master of science in emergency management and a master of arts in fire science.

The new programs are designed to provide students will career advancement opportunities as members of the criminal justice and public safety sectors. Graduates may see employment opportunities as fire fighters and emergency management personnel.

"Online degree programs are a valuable option for busy, working students," said Jack Calareso, president of AMC.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to reach new audiences and look forward to providing our distance learners with the same high-quality, individualized education enjoyed by students on our Paxton campus," he added.

According to the 2009 Sloan Survey, approximately 4.6 million students were enrolled in at least one online course in the fall of 2008.
