College to add record number of online classes
Columbia-Greene Community College (C-GCC) has recently announced that it will offer a record number of hybrid and online courses next semester, according to TheDailyMail.net. C-GCC faculty has designed 33 online classes that will debut this spring.
The behavioral and social sciences department has added a multitude of online options including adolescence and child psychology, theories of personality, introduction to sociology and critical issues in health.
Meanwhile, the business department has also added numerous distance learning courses including managerial accounting, international business management as well as microeconomics and consumer electronics. The science division will begin offering online classes for elementary schools teachers in general math and technical physics.
C-GCC's spring semester will begin on January 19, while intersession classes will commence as early as January 4, according to the news source.
Today, over 3.5 million students are taking online courses and earning online college degrees. At the secondary school level, over 700,000 high school students are taking one or more courses online and nearly 40 states have established state-led virtual schools.
