College rolls out online degree program in computer science

Stevens-Henager College, an accredited online education provider, has recently announced that it is now offering a bachelors degree in computer science.

Authorities at the school said the program was added due to the fact that computer scientists and database administrators are expected to be among the fastest growing occupations in the U.S. over the next few years.

The computer science degree is an accelerated program that can be completed in as few as 36 months. It will cover a wide array of technical issues that include database management, computer servicing, network administration and database design.

Graduates may obtain employment as network administrators, database managers and programmers. Students taking part in the computer science program can earn certifications in Oracle, C++, Advanced Administration and Java.

The degree offering will be available to on-campus and online students alike.

Currently, over 3.5 million students are taking online courses and earning online college degrees. At the secondary school level, over 700,000 high school students are taking one or more courses online and nearly 40 states have established state-led virtual schools.
