College launches online courses for financial advisors
In order to meet the needs of working professionals who seek further education, a number of universities are offering online adult education courses. These initiatives allow those who wish to boost their job qualifications to earn a degree while continuing to work at their day jobs.
Rutgers University School of Business-Camden is one school that is now offering professional education courses for financial advisors. The university collaborated with the Options Industry Council (OIC) - which is an organization that seeks to educate financial advisors - in order to create the Rutgers University Options courses.
"As part of OIC's mission, we are deeply committed to educating financial advisors about how options can fit into their clients' portfolios. We welcome this wonderful opportunity to partner with Rutgers on this important academic endeavor," said Gina McFadden, president of OIC.
The program is designed to help financial advisors protect their clients' investments, design new ideas and build their practice by creating new strategies.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, financial advisors earned an average of $69,050 during the 2008 fiscal year.
