Thursday, Jun 10 2010 11:16PM

The CMR Institute and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy have announced a partnership in which CMR students can enroll in online graduate courses in pharmacy administration.

CMR specializes in non-branded education for the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries. Under the arrangement, CMR students can pursue fields of study such as applied pharmacoeconomics or pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by enrolling as non-degree students in the of University of Florida's online master of science in pharmacy courses.

The online program will take students less than two semesters. After that, students can then apply to UF's online MSPharm program.

"The University of Florida's College of Pharmacy has an outstanding reputation throughout the industry, and this alliance gives our students unique access to accredited graduate-level coursework that will complement the CMR Institute curriculum," said Michelle O'Connor, senior vice president of learning strategy and innovation at CMR Institute. "Online access to this coursework is a real benefit of this alliance. Our students are busy and seeking more flexible and convenient opportunities for professional development and advanced education."

The job market in the pharmacy field should be strong for many years. According to the Bureau for Labor Statistics, the demand for pharmacists is expected to grow by 17 percent between 2008 and 2018 - faster than the average for all occupations.
