Chiropractic college adds new online degree program

The New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) has recently received permission from the New York State Education Department to convert its master of science applied clinical nutrition program into an online degree format.

The program is designed for working chiropractors and other healthcare practitioners who are looking for a natural, holistic approach to clinical nutrition and disease prevention. It was developed to help industry professionals incorporate diet, exercise, nutritional supplementation and lifestyle modifications into their current practice.

"We're looking to teach healthcare practitioners who want to enhance their credentials and expand their practices by incorporating nutrition to address a myriad of health conditions," said Anna Kelles, director of the School of Applied Clinical Nutrition at NYCC. She also noted that nutrition is the fundamental building block in the success of all healthcare treatments.

NYCC's masters degree program will prepare graduates for careers as chiropractors, researchers and industry consultants.

Currently, nearly 4 million students are taking online courses and earning online college degrees. At the secondary school level, more than 700,000 high school students are taking one or more courses online and nearly 40 states have established state-led virtual schools.
