Ashford University unveils new online programs
In a development that may interest working adults who are planning to return to school, Ashford University has introduced two new online bachelors degree programs.
The Bachelor of Arts in Education and Public Policy is designed to prepare students for careers in educational organizations, government, community development, public service, non-profit organizations and philanthropy, while the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Learner Studies offers expertise in language theory, analysis and patterning.
"Considering that the U.S. government is the world's single largest employer, the market for graduates with degrees in Education and Public Policy is significant," says Dr. Joen Rottler, dean of the College of Education.
He adds that globalization means educators are in demand who are skilled in instructing children and adults in the English language.
According to the Bureau of Labor statistics, job growth for teachers will average 12 percent for the next seven years, and top earners at secondary schools make between $67,490 and $76,100.
Those who would like to embark on a rewarding career may be interested to learn that both of the new Ashford degrees are currently available online.
