Students are prepared for manager positions by obtaining a bachelor's degree

Schools are adding bachelor's degrees that offer a concentration in leadership for students who are interested in managerial roles in the business industry. For instance, Ashford University recently announced it will increase its offerings to provide this specialization.

The school's new bachelor's degree program will allow business students to learn specifically about personnel management as well as how to succeed in leadership positions in the workforce.

Charles Minnick, dean for Ashford's business and professionals studies department, said that this course of study is important for students who will seek entry-level positions upon graduation because "new managerial hires will need to be more competitive, and their education must be aligned to demonstrate more than an ability to supervise - they must be able to lead."

By focusing on the development of their managerial skills, students will be prepared for jobs in human resources, community relations, organizational development and any other career path in which a leadership position exists.

Similar campus-based or online bachelor's degrees could provide students with that training that will help them land a job and earn a high-paying salary. Professionals who work as business managers have the potential to make more than $75,000 each year.
