Graduates of a business program could launch lucrative careers in a variety of fields, including financial management. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that median salaries for professionals in this field ranged between $77,280 and $134,940 during 2008.

In an effort to recognize schools that offer exceptional business degree programs, the NASDAQ Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence recognized Baylor University's John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship at the 2010 Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) Conference.

This honor was created by NASDAQ in association with the GCEC to recognize the unique achievements and efforts of entrepreneurship centers across the world.

"Over the decades, Baylor's entrepreneurship program has branched out across organizations, various disciplines and diverse cultures," said Terry S. Maness, dean of the school. "The center now serves as the heart and soul of a very far-reaching program."

The judging panel evaluated the excellence of a program using criteria such as national prestige, recognition and awards, quality and longevity of program, curriculum development, contributions to entrepreneurship research, outreach activities, community collaborations, unique projects as well as commitment to the GCEC.
