Marketing industry offers numerous entry-level positions

Those who wish to work in marketing have a number of career options. These professionals can work for large corporations and major businesses, or choose to run their own firm. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of workers in this industry is expected to increase by 13 percent over the next eight years.

Individuals who have graduated from a marketing degree program may be qualified for numerous entry-level positions. For example, communications associates can write blog posts and website updates for organizations such as the United Nations.

Another lucrative entry-level position is external communications management, as these professionals develop, pitch and place reviews in the media. The BLS reports that marketing managers can earn more than $120,070 per year.

Project assistants help support the director of a company with research and writing, as well as assisting with financial reporting. These professionals can find employment with the government or with marketing firms.

Individuals who work in this field can find employment in a wide range of industries. They held more than 623,800 jobs during the 2008 fiscal year, according to the BLS.
