Ivy League school offers online courses in HR
Adults who plan to boost their credentials in the area of human resources may be interested to know that new online courses from a prominent university will allow them to do just that.
Cornell University has announced busy professionals will be able to earn nine graduate credits from the ILR School through the online graduate certificate in human resources management.
"HR professionals are [increasingly] being asked to play a larger role in providing strategic leadership and helping to manage change," says Harry C. Katz, dean of ILR School.
"This new online program gives [them] a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from prominent HR thought leaders, and to take away practical information that can help their organizations move forward in this time of economic recovery," he adds.
Katz also specifies that the online format allows students to network with classmates while avoiding travel costs.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that demand for human resources managers and specialists will grow dynamically at 17 percent a year until at least 2016, and the top 10 percent of workers earn more than $132,820.
