Interactive guide to best colleges unveiled
U.S. News Media Group in collaboration with Hewlett Packard has published the online version of the U.S. News 100 Best Colleges and Universities guide.
It is designed as a complement to the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges, and ranks Harvard University as the top school, followed by Princeton and Yale. Stanford, Columbia and the University of Chicago are also in the top ten.
The advantage of the online application, which is free, is that it allows visitors to easily navigate and quickly obtain the information they need.
For example, prospective students can filter their search using enrollment size, cost, acceptance rate and student-to-faculty ratios.
U.S. News editor Brian Kelly says the release was dictated by the company's desire to continually innovate and improve the way they deliver their content.
"[W]ith this application, we can provide a better user experience and increase audience engagement," he adds.
Schools featuring in the ranking are also among those which offer the best MBA programs in the country, including those for professionals seeking to enhance their credentials and earn more money.
