Continuing education can provide a way for working professionals to increase their job qualifications and potentially boost their earnings. Adults who choose to enroll in an online program may experience the benefits of web-based learning, such as flexible scheduling, affordability and anytime access to coursework.

Those who work in an art-related field and wish to boost their career may want to consider enrolling in one of the Museum of Modern Art's (MoMA) new online courses. The observer reports that the institution will now offer courses including Modern Art, 1880-1945 as well as Materials and Techniques of Postwar Abstract Painting.

Museum officials said they were surprised and amazed that the online courses offered the same level of quality as the real-life classes, the news source reports.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of archivists and museum technicians, who could benefit from art education, is expected to grow by 20 percent over the next eight years. These professionals held about 29,100 jobs and earned an average of $45,020 during the 2008 fiscal year.
