Washington Colleges & Universities

The state of Washington hosts six public four-year colleges and universities, 34 public community and technical colleges, and more than 300 independent institutions. Programs offered range from two-year degrees to doctoral degrees. The Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board provides strategic planning, coordination, monitoring, and policy analysis for higher education here. Washington offers all education programs at 25 accredited schools. The state ranks 11th among the number of residents who have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher.
