Healthcare Support

Healthcare is on a fast career track, and so are jobs that supporting front line practitioners and technicians. The modern "whole body, whole mind" approach integrates all types of workers. It’s little surprise that healthcare support careers, combined with healthcare practitioner and technician services, make up 75 percent of all jobs in this field.

Years in medical school are not the only way to make a difference in millions of lives. Expected to grow Q% through the year 2012, many support careers can be attained with little specialized education: Medical transcription, massage therapists, pharmacy aides, physical therapist aides/assistants, dental assistance, home health aides and veterinary assistants.

Whether self-employed or working for public or private agencies, these aides and assistants help the elderly, disabled and ill in institutions, clinics and homes. Further experience and training can advance these workers to higher level positions as the demand for healthcare grows.
