Education's core objective is to build citizens for tomorrow - everywhere from preschools to graduate schools, and private or public schools. Careers in Education, Training & Library also think outside of the classroom: Corporations and libraries are also sanctuaries of personal development, training and continuing education.

The roles of today's teachers and administrators encompass more than academics alone. They now oversee emotional growth for youth, and provide career pathways for high school and post-secondary students. Beyond high school, the modern emphasis on lifelong education is opening doors for those who teach adult literacy, remedial education, GED prep and self-enrichment courses.

Especially in rural areas, there are teacher shortages in subjects areas like math, science, foreign languages and special education. An increasing student population, fewer people entering teaching preparation programs and high faculty turnover all add up to an unprecedented demand for qualified teachers to maintain and boost the diversity of student population.
