As many companies like to proclaim in their internal communications, their most important asset is their employees. Frequently, personnel costs are also a companys most expensive overhead. So its no wonder that qualified human resources specialists are among the most sought-after employees of all. The U.S. Department of Labor forecasts demand to grow by as much as 20% through 2010, with employers typically requiring a Bachelors degree in Human Resources for entry-level HR positions.
The varied demands make the human resources position one of the most challenging and satisfying on the organizational chart. Typical functions include recruiting and screening talent, negotiating employment contracts, acting as general intermediary between the corner offices and cubicles, resolving employee grievances and conflicts, minimizing the impact of sudden expansion and downsizing, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing employee training and benefits and, of course, maintaining employee morale at an all time high.
Consequently, our programs include Human Resource Certificate, Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree tracks with a variety of concentrations. Courses reflect the cross-disciplinary nature of the HR profession, encompassing best practices in business, employment law and organizational psychology.
